🏛️✨ Heritage Open Days is officially here! ✨🏛️
From 11–20 September, Heritage Open Days celebrates the history, stories and places that make our communities so special – and there’s plenty to discover right here in Great Yarmouth. 🎉
This year’s programme includes the chance to:
🏰 Explore Great Yarmouth Town Hall – step inside this iconic building, discover the stunning Assembly Room and see the civic regalia.
🔔 Visit Great Yarmouth Minster Bell Tower – climb up to the ringing chamber, see the historic bells and even have a go at bell ringing.
📚 Discover Anna Sewell House – visit the birthplace of the author of Black Beauty and learn more about her life and legacy.
⚓ Step inside the Fishermen’s Hospital – discover the fascinating history of this unique 18th-century building and the people it was built to support.
🚶 Explore Blackfriars – join a guided tour taking in the Town Wall, Blackfriars Tower, Jewish Cemetery, statues and the Old Potteries.
🏘️ Take part in guided heritage walks – including the Finest Quay walk, exploring the history and stories of Great Yarmouth’s South Quay.
📖 Discover local stories at the History Fair at Great Yarmouth Minster, with local history groups, displays, maps, memorabilia and more.
