Volunteering to restart Norton Nippers 🧸☕️

We’ve had some lovely people offer to volunteer to support Norton Nippers restarting. My slow speed of response really is indicative of why I cannot restart Nippers myself but I really would love for it to continue.

I’d be happy to help with handover but this is the initial action list:

▶️Check availability options for NVH (Little Learners use the committee room at least part of the week)
▶️Agree volunteer rota
▶️Book room
▶️Assess session costs and agree charge
▶️Arrange indemnity insurance
▶️Promote on Facebook, Norton News etc
▶️Check toy cupboard
▶️Check/tally cash box and bank account
▶️Purchase any tea/coffee/milk/snacks for sessions
▶️Enjoy 🥰

Hello, Norton Nippers has been in existence for many years as a place for under 5s and their families or carers to make friends during stay and play sessions at Norton village hall.
I am personally very grateful it was there for us as a reason to get out of the house in the newborn days and as a way to meet so many families of children my son will start school with in September.

We haven’t run since early March 2020 due to Covid. Several volunteers like myself have children older than Nippers age now or their circumstances have changed so they cannot commit to running Nippers. So we’re looking for some new volunteers, perhaps new parents from the village or nearby to continue Nippers and make friends along the way.

Please get in contact if you could help with running Nippers on a voluntary basis- happy to support a managed handover, ideally to a group of volunteers.

Unfortunately unless volunteers come forward we cannot restart Nippers.

Instead of the two weeks we envisaged it has been a whole year that Norton Nippers has had to remain closed and what a year for us all!
We’ll need to consider if/when we can resume Norton Nippers- please do let us know if you would be interested in the continuation of this group in some capacity for the little ones of Norton and the surrounding area (and their parents and carers).
Tuesday mornings haven’t been the same this past year x

We’re going to cancel Norton Nippers for the next two weeks in light of current restrictions with Covid 19. We hope to restart after the Easter holidays, but clearly this is a changing situation. In the meantime our toddler Nippers decorated some little Easter bunnies today and washed their hands lots. 🐣 🐰 🥚

Missed our weekly Nippers session this morning ☹️.
Is anyone displaying rainbows 🌈 at their house for passers by? If you’re on a daily exercise in Norton keep an eye out for our first attempt today.
So looking forward to our usual Tuesday mornings sometime soon 🤞🏻x

Last week at Nippers we had great fun meeting some baby lambs at a local farm 🐑 , this week we had free play with extra hand washing given present circumstances 🖐 🧼 and next week we’re going to do some crafts 🐣 🐰 😊 Always time for ☕️ and 🍪 👍
