My name is Amy Pierce and I am asking for your vote in the Republican primary on June 7th. I have decided to run after an overwhelming amount of calls from members of the Sheriff's Office, local attorneys, and many others from court and county offices that know my abilities. I bring nearly twenty four years of court experience to this position, fourteen of them as Clerk. I understand the complexities of running a Clerk's Office and I am ready to bring my experience, knowledge, and expertise to the Gloucester Circuit Court. I have been formally trained in financial management, case management, and supervision. I took the personal initiative to enroll myself in the Dale Carnegie course for effective communication. Every year I attend annual Legislative Update training to stay current on Virginia Laws. I have worked with four judges, three of which rose to become judges in Circuit Court. I have trained many Clerks and Deputy Clerks throughout my career.
As Gloucester Circuit Court Clerk, I will make constituent service my top priority. I will offer Saturday phone hours once a month to accommodate the working citizens in our county. I will strive to streamline services to ensure voter interaction between the office and the public, introduce a kiosk that reduces wait time and increases customer usability, and implement flexible office hours to allow working class citizens to have improved access to court services. As Gloucester continues to face the pandemic, I want to offer curbside assistance to better protect high-risk members of the community. I have what it takes to bring positive change to Gloucester through a dedicated Clerk's Office that is committed to serving the community with respect and integrity.
