🌙 Today we commemorate the blessed birth of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ — a mercy to all the worlds.

His ď·ş life gave humanity a timeless message of mercy, justice, compassion, dignity, unity and care for the vulnerable.

“And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds.”
— Qur’an 21:107

On this blessed occasion, may we honour the Prophet ď·ş not only with our words, but by following his example in our character, compassion, justice and service to others.

Peace and blessings be upon Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. 🤍🌙

Yet again, we see the same party lining up a new face—different prime minister, same policies. This has been the pattern over the past several years. Should we expect anything truly different this time?

You know, just like the fingers on a hand—each one different in shape, yet all part of the same hand—we humans are unique, with our own minds and perspectives. But that shouldn’t divide us. Because when we’re divided, others gain power over us. Alone, a finger can’t achieve much, but together they form a strong hand. In the same way, we need to ask ourselves: Who benefits from dividing us? Why do some outsiders seem interested in stirring chaos in the UK? We shouldn’t just look at the surface—let’s focus on what’s really behind it. What’s their agenda? Why try to destabilize us? Let’s stay united, because that’s where our strength lies.

Glasgow is entering a new chapter.
This is a moment to reflect on what has worked, what hasn’t, and what kind of city we want to build for the next generation.

Strong communities make a strong Glasgow.

Today, the result may not have gone in our favour, but this journey was never only about winning an election. It was about raising real issues, giving ordinary people a voice, and standing up for a better future for Glasgow Southside and Scotland.

From affordable housing to modern education, from community safety to fairness for working people — my mission continues.

Thank you to every single person who supported me, spoke to me, welcomed me, and believed in real change.

This is not goodbye.
This is just the beginning.
