Porridge in the Morning - Comedy/Drama

Porridge in the Morning - Comedy/Drama Comedy/Drama by A.Fraser (actor Laura Fraser's Dad)- The real-life diary of a 16-yr old in 1911- A momentous year in the life of Colin Fraser & Glasgow.

Award-winning director John Binnie. Britannia Panopticon June 12-15. £5 only (to Panopticon charity)! Laura Fraser's Great Uncle has been brought to life in this comedy/drama based on the diary of Colin Alexander Fraser, who aged 16 in 1911, bored in his office clerk's job, who when not sleeping at his desk composed the diary. It details his numerous girlfriends who he played one against the other

, his 'fitba' pals, his involvement with Red Clydeside, the Singer strike, Tramcar strike, the Coronation, the International Exhibition at Kelvingrove park, and the Suffragettes. One pretty 20-year old Suffragette in particular, who regularly visited him from the office next door asking for the loan of a match, had him tongue-tied and floundering! "Recreating a vanished Glasgow of tenement life, this is a funny, yet touching, coming-of-age story." Performed in the Britannia Panopticon, and to raise money for the refurbishment of this historic building - the world's oldest surviving music hall. See www.britanniapanopticon.org.uk
