Today, join Climate Action Gamlingay for a Bioblitz of Millbridge Brook Meadow - meet at the Eco Hub at 9.30, 1pm and 6pm.

🌿CALLING ALL NATURE LOVERS! 🌿

As part of Big Green Week, help us capture a vital "snapshot" of local wildlife at our FREE Bioblitz at Millbridge Brook Meadows! Whether you're a nature expert or just love a walk in the fresh air, we need your help to protect our local environment.

This data directly funds and shapes local conservation work (like recent hedge laying and new butterfly banks), helping us fight the gradual loss of our local nature.

⏰ Times: 9:30am, 1:00pm, and 6:00pm
📍 Meeting Point: The Eco Hub (for a short walk to the meadows)
💰 Cost: FREE!

We need a friendly team of volunteers for the walks:

👀 Spotters & Listeners: To find hidden wildlife.
✍️ Scribes: To log our findings.
📱 Techies: To help use the ObsID and iRecord apps.
🏡 Gardeners: Can’t make it? Count the wildlife in your own garden on the day and message us your findings!

🌍✨ BIG GREEN WEEK HAS ARRIVED IN GAMLINGAY & HATLEY! ✨🌍

Great Big Green Week is the only mass moment for nature and climate in the UK, and it belongs to everyone.

From 6 to 14 June, over a million people across the UK are coming together to take action for our communities, our nature, and our climate.

Here in Gamlingay & Hatley there will be some fantastic FREE events - Check out what’s happening right on your doorstep:

🌿 Event 1: Bioblitz at Millbridge Brook Meadows

Ever wondered what amazing creatures and plants share our local spaces? Help us find and record as many species as possible! 🐜🌸🐦

🐦 Event 2: Count the Swifts Day 2026

Swifts are truly incredible birds, but sadly they are currently on the UK’s Red List of Conservation Concern. Come and learn more about these amazing summer visitors and find out how we can support our local population! 🦅❤️

📍 Meeting Point: Church Street, Gamlingay (near the Emplins)
💚 Whether you’re a passionate nature enthusiast or just want to get outside, meet your neighbours, and do something positive for our village, we would love to see you there!

Find out how to ventilate your home to avoid mould; better insulate and seal leaks; and take advantage of renewable technologies. Collect tips for summer cooling as well as winter heating.

In addition to the presentation there will be a Q&A session, hands on materials and an opportunity to talk 1-1 with experts in home energy advice.
