FYI All, See email to me from our MP.
Dear Vincent,
RE: Framlingham GP Practice
I wanted to update you on my efforts to work with the partners at Framlingham GP Practice to address concerns that some residents raised with me at a public meeting in September.
Just to recap, those concerns were generally around the ease of making an appointment, the speed at which patients were seen, and then the manner in which care coordinators interacted with patients. I want to be clear, not all residents had the same criticism, and some spoke highly both of the quality of care and the standard of service.
Last week, I met with Dr Tom Hindmarch and practice manager Jane Horton to discuss these concerns. It was a very constructive meeting, and I want to use this opportunity to thank Tom and Jane for taking the time to meet with me and address all of the issues that we raised. I came away confident that the Practice recognises concerns we have and are proactively taking steps to address them. They briefed me on their own steps to implement Total Triage which will ensure patients get seen quicker and receive more appropriate care from a practitioner. The new system will also free time up for care coordinators to support patients who walk in or call up. I certainly feel, having listened to the partners, that many of the problems are surmountable and results will be demonstrable next year.
Of course, my job is to act as an advocate for residents of Framlingham. Therefore this is just the first in a series of meetings with the practice. I also hope we will be able to host another public meeting in the new year with the community, to update you on further steps taken.
As always, I encourage residents with any issue or concern to contact my office.
Best Wishes,
