We were delighted to have been gifted these commemorative stamps and decanter by an anonymous donor. We are very grateful and they are now on display in Nelson's Tower which is open seven days a week from 2-4pm.

Grant Park, which sits below Cluny Hill where Nelson's Tower proudly stands, is well worth exploring when you are visiting. Dotted around the park and near to the Tower itself are three wood sculptures which are fun to find. Who wants to go on a hunt for a dragon?

As we mark Volunteers’ Week, the Forres Heritage Trust would like to extend its thanks to the dedicated volunteers who give their time, energy and expertise to support our work throughout the year.

Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. Whether welcoming visitors, helping with events, assisting in the archive room, creating and running events, or renovating and looking after the Tolbooth and Nelson’s Tower.

Their enthusiasm and commitment help keep the history of thee buildings alive for locals and visitors alike, ensuring that our community’s past continues to be celebrated and understood by future generations.

We were delighted to be able to help these young historians learn more about our beautiful town.

The Forres Heritage Trust promotes history and culture in Forres, and preserves historic structures and the landscape for future generations.
It is made up of a dedicated band of volunteers who give their time not only to work on preserving its historical landmarks, but to guide and educate visitors on the history of the town.
The trust looks after The Tolbooth, the town’s central landmark, and Nelson’s Tower, perched high on Cluny Hill with views over the surrounding area.
