Ofgem have confirmed that from 1 January the Price Cap will rise slightly to £1,758 per year, a 0.2% increase from October's Price Cap. It might not sound like a big change, but with temperatures dropping and usage going up, many households will still feel the squeeze.

Right now, our 3-service Fixed Tariff gives customers rates below the current October Price Cap, so they can save up to £145 a year based on typical use. It lets them lock in great value for up to 12 months and stay in control of their energy costs, whatever happens to the Price Cap next.

Ofgem recommends bill payers consider switching to a fixed tariff

Waiting means paying more, customers who delay switching could end up paying a lot more

Limited-time savings, help customers lock in peace of mind before this offer disappears

The October price cap has landed!

Helping you get ahead this winter...

Ofgem have announced the October Price Cap (£1,755 per year), with a 2% increase from July's price cap, many households will still feel the pressure. The need for real, long-term savings remains front of mind.

Act fast - the clock is ticking!

We've launched a limited-availability Price Plunge tariff to support the cap, a low, fixed price designed to help customers lock in real savings ahead of winter. But once it's gone, it's gone. Now is the perfect time to talk about UW and the savings customers could enjoy.

What is the price cap and what does it mean for people?

The energy price cap is like a safety net for many people, helping to limit how much energy companies can charge for their services based on a set rate. It's set by Ofgem, the energy regulator for Great Britain, and is reviewed every three months. The price cap doesn't cap a total bill – the more energy used, the more somebody pays. It’s important to know that the way the industry talks about the price cap is based on an annual bill for the average household.

There’s more to UW than just a great energy deal
UW has been awarded, for the eighth year running, the Best Value for Money and Best Customer Service at the USwitch Energy Awards 2024. PLUS, we secured the highest overall score for energy suppliers in Which?'s latest annual energy firm rankings. UW scored 75% overall – coming ahead of 17 other energy suppliers.
