As the C-17 marks 25 years of service, ZZ177 has unveiled special anniversary tail art. ✈️

The aircraft is one of the RAF’s most recognisable Globemasters, having carried Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II from Scotland to England in 2022.

Officer Commanding 99 Squadron, Wing Commander Lofthouse, explains the story behind the design which we have to say is incredible! 🤩

Three years ago, 47 Squadron held its Royal Disbandment Parade at RAF Brize Norton, marking the end of an era ahead of the retirement of the Hercules fleet from RAF service. ✈️🥁🎺

This video looks back at that historic occasion, celebrating the aircraft, the squadron, and the people who made the Hercules such an enduring and respected capability for generations. 💙🎖️

Make sure you watch right to the end for the Hercules’ final flypast complete with a memorable wing waggle as a fitting farewell. ✈️
