I recently reported a hole that had appeared in the bridge at Ridgefield Street. Highways duly came and cordoned it off as the bridge is well used, and I personally had already witnessed an elderly lady falling into the 'dip' before the hole itself appeared.

Sadly, someone probably thought it was good fun to throw the barriers into the canal in the last 24-hours. Highways have been alerted, but meanwhile, please take care if you walk over the bridge.

I've had a few enquiries from residents outside of the designated area for these major roadworks.
Locals will have received a letter from the Utility Company explaining it is for water works.
Having spoken to a Highways Engineer this morning, she explained it is for a new combined major sewer pipe.
The top half of Coronation Road will be completely blocked off. However, the company has been told during multiple meetings that the houses with driveways must be given access. Unfortunately, those who park on the road will need to find somewhere else to park.
There will be traffic lights further down towards Somerset Road.

NB - I asked the Highways Engineer to check the phone number on the signs as it wasn't working yesterday. She too tried it today, and has now asked that a correct number is added so residents can make contact if there are any issues.
