πŸ“ A Small (But Not So Holy) Surprise… πŸ’©πŸΎβ˜ΉοΈ

It seems that sometime today a rather immaculate deposit mysteriously appeared outside the Holy Trinity Church. Sadly, while miracles may happen in church, magically disappearing dog poo is not one of them.

Joking aside, leaving dog mess in such a visible and well-used spot is disrespectful to the church, to residents, and to everyone who enjoys our village. It is certainly not the standard we want for our community.

🐢 Dog owners are responsible for their pets at all times, which includes cleaning up after them and keeping them under proper control in public spaces.

If any resident has a physical condition that genuinely prevents them from picking up after their dog, please contact Bassetlaw District Council Waste Management for advice and support, there may be options available.

Let’s keep Everton clean, respectful, and pleasant for everyone who lives here and visits.

πŸ™ Thank you to the many responsible dog owners who already do the right thing every day.

It was great to host our local County Council representative, Cllr Mike Robertson, for a walk and talk visit in the village on Saturday.

🚨EVERTON VILLAGE WALKAROUND🚨

I had a great morning walking around the village, with Gary the chair and other members of the Parish Council, along with Richard from the Metcalfe trust. It gave me even more context and understanding of the village, and I was able to update on actions I am trying to progress, including a zebra crossing over the A631.

We also visited the school and met Andrew Green, school head teacher, to discuss the needs of the school, especially securing a school hall. I am arranging for my good friend, County Councillor Simon Wright, cabinet member for education, to visit and hopefully push for an investment in a school hall.

A brilliant and productive morning and I thank everyone who came to meet and give me a real understanding of the area
