Not only can you discover the history of the church through an interactive video, and a handheld guide, but you can learn how this historic building is care for by St. Swithun's Church Restoration Trust

This time last week, Issi Sophie and St. Swithun's Church Restoration Trust were busy preparing for St. Swithun’s Church Summer Wine Tasting Evening! 🌻 🍷

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported the event. Together, we raised over £300, which will be split between East Grinstead Foodbank and St. Swithun’s Church Restoration Trust.

Happy Friday! 🎉

For today’s Find It Out Friday, we are exploring an unfamiliar location at church…

Ever wondered what’s behind the wooden hatch doors to the left of the west doors…an underground crypt, a secret passageway or a boiler room?

It is indeed… the entrance to the boiler room. Hidden away, it doesn’t get much attention, like other parts of the building, even though it’s a vital part in keeping this historic building running safely.

As part of our previous quinquennial works, the boiler room entrance has recently undergone important maintenance works including:

🚪 Doors re-stained inside and out
🪜 Stairs de-rusted and painted
🛠️ A new safety handrail fitted

It may be one of our behind the scenes working spaces, but we’re proud to give it a spotlight and the attention it deserves. 💪👏
