Scottish TUSC - Standing Against the Cuts! TUSC is mounting the biggest left of Labour challenge in over 60 years and will be standing at least 100 candidates offering a campaigning alternative to on-going savage cuts and austerity. commented: “Dundee is facing a major crisis in rising levels of poverty, benefit sanctions, low pay and deep cuts to public spending.
“Whatever combination of parties wins the election in May this will not change. All the major establishment parties in the UK; Tory, Labour and the Lib Dems are committed to continuing with cuts. Here in Scotland we're also seeing an SNP government passing on these cuts. At a local level we're seeing millions of pounds slashed from the city budget both this year, next year and the year after.
“Not a single elected representative in Dundee, of any party, is prepared to say not a penny more in cuts must be implemented. TUSC is different. We're calling for an end to ALL cuts. For all councils, the Scottish Government and Westminster to set No Cuts budget. And for political representatives who will lead the fight for a return of the millions that have been stolen us by the Tories since 2010.”
