Last night President Sandeep Sesodia and members of Highcliffe Rotary Club were honoured and delighted to attend a special 3 course meal presented by the catering students at Highcliffe School, where we met by headmaster Patrick Earnshaw and other staff members who dined with us. Other than the amazing meal the high point of the evening was to hear four of the students give us very detailed and researched EPQ presentations on four fascinating and diverse subjects throughout the time we were there. The enthusiasm and passion these young people bring to their chosen subjects is truly inspiring and we wish them every success in their studies and whatever they choose to do in the future.

We had an amazing day on Saturday working in conjunction with our friends in Christchurch Rotary to make the Wishing Well Charity Walk happen. We were blessed with excellent weather and got to see plenty of smiling faces from fellow Rotarians, the generous public who wished us well and many of whom donated to the causes we were raising money for and of course the lovely people who signed up to make the effort to walk and raise money for us. Thanks to everyone who got involved. Here's a few pictures from the day including our President Sandeep, Nigel and Paula Burt from Olivia Inspires who were one of our charity beneficiaries, Martin from the Cliffhanger Cafe who made a very generous donation and allowed us all to set up the start point for the walk on his frontage, and the delightful Mr Ed who was very pleased to meet Sandeep and the Wishing Well itself at Mudeford Quay with my sister who made the walk and one of the members of Christchurch Rotary who was there to greet her when she arrived ❤️

Yesterday Highcliffe Rotary President Mr Sandeep Sesodia was proud to present awards for the design a poster competition for the Wishing Well Charity Walk organised by Highcliffe and Christchurch Rotary Clubs. This was a competition entered by pupils at Highcliffe School and Sandeep presented a £50 voucher to the 1st place entry designed by Emily and a runner up voucher of £25 to Amelia for her poster entry. Emily's poster will shortly be seen popping up around the Highcliffe area to advertise the charity walk. Congratulations from all of us at Highcliffe Rotary Club to all the students for their artisic flair and hard work in putting their poster designs together for our competition.

One of the charities that Highcliffe and Christchurch Rotary are supporting on Rotary Wishing Well Walk on Saturday 11th of May is Olivia Inspires is about -

Olivia Inspires was set up to allow the spirit of New Forest student, Olivia Burt to live on after her tragic death in 2018. The charity helps children and young people aged 11 to 18 years, who live in, or are educated in the New Forest District Council area and who are facing financial hardship to achieve their potential in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), the arts and sport. This is achieved by awarding grants of money, normally no more than £500, to purchase items or services and in the 4 years since it was launched Olivia Inspires has helped more than 400 young people with awards in excess of £80,000.
