Our next meeting is on Monday 30th March, 6.30pm in the back room of the Unitarians Church, Hallgate (opposite Flares). Come along and have your say in what we do and how we do it, including when we have gigs and who we book. We're a friendly and very democratic bunch, no party politics here, no platform of speakers laying down the par6y line or anything like that. Just comrades sat round a table sharing ideas as absolute equals.

Want to get involved with fighting racism, while also promoting live original music in our community? Then come along to our next meeting on Thursday 12th March, 6.30pm at the Unitarians Church Hall on Hallgate. Everyone's welcome, whether you want to help with ideas and planning or simply want to volunteer a bit of time to help promote or run a gig smoothly on the night.
We are working towards our next event on on Saturday 25th July, and it's not too late to contribute to it's planning.

We had a great time at the Love Music Hate Racism gig in Doncaster on Saturday night. It was a great mix of punk, ska and post-punk on the main stage, plus we had spoken word and acoustic sets in the intermissions to keep the entertainment going. It was a festival of live original music - something that we have to do ourselves around here, unfortunately.
And, of course, we sent out the message that racism and the demonising of immigrants is a lot less popular, even here deep in the Red Wall, than the main parties and mainstream media would have you believe. We're not all flagshaggers just waiting to burn down a hotel full of asylum seekers, here in the North, you know, London 'journalists'?
