Did you know that our two sister pubs are joined by an idyllic walk through the Essex and Suffolk countryside? 🌾
Walking between The Marlborough, Dedham and The Red Lion, Manningtree takes you through picturesque Dedham, along the River Stour and through Constable Country towards Flatford - the setting of Constable's iconic Haywain Painting ⭐ Heading eastwards towards Manningtree will give you expansive views of the Stour Estuary towards Shotley, Harwich and Felixstowe, before walking along the high street that's full of independent shops 🎁
Here's our idea of a great afternoon/evening spent at both of our incredible pubs:
Lunch in the beer garden at The Marlborough with a pint or two 🍻
Begin the stunning walk towards Manningtree following our route 📍
Arrive in Manningtree and explore the High Street 🛍️
Dinner at The Pizza Place : The Red Lion's onsite pizza takeaway! 🍕
An evening spent at one of the many events The Red Lion host - live music, arts and crafts, comedy... the choice is yours!
With just a short drive separating the two pubs, The Marlborough's 5 bed and breakfast rooms are the perfect place to put your feet up after exploring our local area. Ask our team for local taxi numbers to help you get from A to B! 🌿
