๐Ÿ‘ฎ Our officers visited Gilwern Primary School today to spend some time with the pupils and answer their questions about policing.

๐Ÿš” The pupils also had the exciting opportunity to take a closer look at our police vehicles, try them out for themselves and learn more about whatโ€™s inside a police car.

A big thank you to the school for having us, we had a great time meeting everyone! ๐Ÿ˜Š

๐Ÿš“ Vehicle Recovered ๐Ÿš“

๐Ÿ‘ฎ Today, received numerous reports of a vehicle being parked dangerously Redwick Road, Magor.
๐Ÿšจ PCSO 541 attended the location and found the vehicle parked dangerously on a zebra crossing, on white zigzags and close to a junction. This caused a dangerous obstruction to road users by reducing visibility and creating a significant risk of collision.
๐Ÿ‘ Due to the immediate road safety risk, the vehicle has been recovered from the location.

๐Ÿš” PORTSKEWETT | LOCAL CONCERNS ๐Ÿš”

This evening, officers from the Monmouthshire Neighbourhood Team attended Crick Road, Portskewett following concerns raised by local residents about drivers contravening the one-way system.

Thankfully, no such incidents were witnessed during our patrol this evening.

The patrol was also a great opportunity to speak with local residents, listen to their concerns and provide reassurance.

โš ๏ธ A reminder to drivers:

Please ensure you follow all road signs and comply with one-way restrictions. Driving against a clearly displayed traffic sign can put other road users and pedestrians at risk.

๐Ÿšจ Contravening certain traffic signs can result in a Fixed Penalty Notice and penalty points on your driving licence, with more serious circumstances potentially leading to further enforcement action. Please slow down, look out for signs and plan your route. A few extra seconds can make a big difference to everyone's safety.

We will continue to conduct patrols in the area and respond to concerns raised by our local communities.

Yesterday, our Neighbourhood Officers attended the Usk Show, carrying out patrols throughout the event and taking the opportunity to engage with members of the community.

It was great to be out in the community, meeting residents, visitors and those attending the show, and having some really positive conversations along the way. Our officers certainly enjoyed meeting some of the four-legged visitors too! ๐Ÿ„ ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™€๏ธ

Thank you to everyone who stopped to say hello and speak with us. It was lovely to see so many familiar faces! ๐Ÿ‘‹

We look forward to continuing to attend local events and work alongside our communities.
