Today PCSO 546 organised a speed monitoring Op on Fairwater Way, this follows recent concerns raised of the speed residents are driving through this road. 🚗

This issue has been previously raised when speaking to residents of Fairwater, 25 cars were checked with an average of 31mph on a 20mph road.

This is a friendly reminder that we want all drivers on the road and residents walking near roads to feel safe when commuting through their community. 🤝 👮‍♀️

🚨 Gwent Police have received numerous calls in recent days relating to the use of illegal off road bikes in the Upper Cwmbran and Thornhill areas.

👮 This evening, officers from our Community Action Team have acted on a further report of a gathering of off road bikes.

🏃 Upon arrival, persons made off. However, officers were successful in retrieving one of the bikes 🏍️ to which has now been reported as stolen.

💻 An investigation will now commence into the the report of the theft.

❗ Yesterday evening, the Neighbourhood Policing Team executed two simultaneous drug warrants in the Pontnewydd area, Cwmbran.

✅ A quantity of drugs and mobile phones were seized from the addresses.

👮‍♀️ The investigation remains ongoing.

CO340 & CO446 alongside our We Don't Buy Crime Team supported and attended Garnsychan Partnership this morning.

The Partnership launched their bike library and were joined TCBC Road Safety & Active Travel team. A local Primary School learned about the benefits of active travel and staying safe whilst cycling, they also got to asked questions to the British Cycling team 🚲

We had the pleasure of witnessing the moment a pupil got to ride a bike for the first time without assistance 👏 💪

Despite the weather 🌦️ , the event was well received and we were able to security mark some bikes. Thank you to all involved.

PCSO 503 & PCSO 546 recently delivered an engaging police workshop at Henllys C in Wales, giving pupils an insight into our day-to-day role within the community 🚓
The children were a credit to their school 👏 – they were extremely well behaved, asked great questions, and clearly enjoyed the session 😊
We’d like to say a big thank you to all staff and the school for welcoming us and allowing us the opportunity to share an insight into our role and the work we do within the community 🙌
We look forward to returning again in the future!

Well done to Heddlu Bach pupils at Greenmeadow Primary school for supporting a road‑safety speed check on Ty Gwyn Road. The aim of the speed check was to encourage safer driving near schools. 🚗 👮
