Collection of GCSE Certificates (Years 11 – 2023, 2024 and 2025)

We would like to inform parents/carers of past pupils that GCSE certificates are now available for collection for students who sat their Year 11 examinations in 2023, 2024 or 2025. If these certificates have not already been collected, they can be picked up during the times below.

Certificates can be collected from the school’s main reception on the following dates:

Tuesday 23rd June
Wednesday 24th June
Thursday 25th June

Collection time: 3:00pm – 4:00pm

Please note that pupils must bring valid identification when collecting their certificates.

Congratulations to the year 8 football team on winning the Gwent schools cup yesterday beating Caerleon 5-3 in the final. This was the first game on the new 4g pitch and there was a lovely atmosphere with many parents and pupils present to support the game; Also many thanks to staff who supported!!



There was some excellent football played by both teams and both sets of players were a credit to both schools. The game was an excellent advert for school boy football and all the boys involved should be congratulated for the way they played and for the way they conducted themselves and represented the school.

Well done to the pupils who took part in the UK Maths Trust Junior Mathematical Challenge. All pupils involved demonstrated excellent resilience in the competition, which involved these pupils tackling problems designed to challenge their mathematical reasoning, precision of thought and fluency. ⭐👏

Our Base students are having a fantastic time learning to sign a brand new song with Mr Trace! Can you guess what it might be? 🎶 We can’t wait to share their performance at the Base summer fete towards the end of term. Stay tuned for more details!

Over the coming weeks, we are asking pupils to donate unwanted items that St David’s Hospice can sell in their local Cwmbran shops. We will collect all the donations in school and pass them on, they would be very grateful to receive good-quality items such as:
- Toys, teddies, board games, puzzles and electronic games and sealed gifts sets.
Please note that all toys and teddies must have a CE mark so that the hospice is able to sell them.
Any donations, big or small, will be greatly appreciated, and all proceeds will go towards supporting patients and their families during some of the most challenging times in their lives.
We’re proud to represent one of our school’s important values: Kindness. We love helping others, supporting our community, and proving that kindness really can make a difference.

🏆 Huge congratulations to our Year 9 rugby team for winning the Newport Schools Cup at Rodney Parade yesterday! Their resilience and teamwork were outstanding, and they made us all incredibly proud. Thank you to the staff and the amazing support from parents and carers throughout the year—this victory is for you too!
