Thank you so much to everyone who voted for me and supported our campaign in Shirley North.
For my first ever election campaign, these results were genuinely incredibly encouraging. Shirley North delivered the single highest number of Reform votes anywhere in Croydon, with 3,341 votes cast for Reform candidates in the ward, alongside the third highest Reform vote share in the borough at 23.3%.
Personally, I received 1,197 votes and came fourth overall — just behind the three sitting Conservative councillors who retained their seats — and ahead of Labour and the other candidates in the ward. Compared to the last local election, the political picture in Shirley North has shifted massively, and it’s clear a lot of residents are looking for something different.
Across Croydon, Reform secured almost 40,000 votes, nearly 14% overall, won New Addington South, and elected two councillors. In London — which is a very different political environment to many other parts of the UK — that’s a strong and very encouraging result for a growing local team.
A huge thank you as well to everyone who helped leaflet, canvass, share posts online, speak to neighbours, or simply stop for a chat on the doorstep over the last few months. We built real momentum in a very short space of time.
Whatever your politics, thank you to everyone who took part in democracy this week ❤️
