🌊 Are corporate water monopolies failing consumers?

I recently joined BBC Politics South East to debate the regional water crisis.

🗣️ Watch my comments re nationalisation vs. privatisation, alongside the urgent need for tougher scrutiny on company performance and operating licences. Let me know your thoughts below👇

🌤️ My usual Sunday stroll revealed flowers still in bloom 🌼 various fungi sprouting 🍄 and a Scots Pine tree that looks like it’s had a lightning strike⚡️ - perhaps someone can tell me why this tree has a scar which runs the length of the trunk!

💥 Early prisoner releases will place an unbelievable strain on frontline policing resources over the coming months. Not to mention the strain and anguish that many victims are already going through.

🚨 You can't solve a prison capacity crisis by simply transferring all the pressure onto our streets.

👇 Listen to my interview on BBC Radio Sussex. I warn that, instead of fighting neighbourhood crime, our police officers will be swamped chasing recalls and sorting emergency safeguarding.

Fixing this needs practical action, not shuffling the deck. Here’s a few ideas for starters:

1. Immediately deport & return foreign national offenders (FNOs) to free up prison spaces.

2. Look at overseas prison deals to ease the overcrowding at home.

3. Fix housing and provide properly funded rehabilitation before anyone walks free.

Decompressing overcrowded jails onto local streets without operational alignment, treats policing once again as a sponge for systemic failure.

👉 Time to make noise: Please share this post, tag your local representatives and demand that ministers stop using our high streets as an overflow car park for broken prisons!

🇬🇧 Taking the upbeat vibe from our Party Conference out onto the doorsteps of Sussex today.

😎 A really warm reception, lots of smiles and ‘we love Kemi’ just increased our enthusiasm.

📬 The warning made me chuckle too - it’s clearly the eco-friendly alternative to a guard dog!
