Mayoral Activities
The Mayor of Crewe, Cllr Stuart Mackay, was pleased to attend the opening of the Memory Café in Haslington.

A huge well done to the volunteers at Haslington Methodist Church for creating this valuable community space to support people living with dementia and their carers.

The Mayor had the honour of officially declaring the café open and enjoyed speaking with volunteers and visitors about the positive impact a service like this can have.

Spaces like this provide an important opportunity for people to come together, connect with others and access support in a welcoming environment.

Deputy Mayor Update - April 2026

At the beginning of the month Stuart went along to the Senior Forum held at St Michael's Church, Coppenhall. Crewe for the Easter Fun Day. It was a fun event meeting the group and getting involved with the games and activities. Stuart was also given the difficult task of judging the best Easter bonnet!
He went along with the Mayor Sally to see the Crewe Amateur Musicals Society performance of 'Ghost: the Musical'. The production value, singing talent and overall presentation to be incredible worthy of besting even the most professional performances. A huge well done to the cast and crew.
Stuart was also invited to the Congleton mayor's Charity Ball to support Cllr Robert Brittain's chosen charities including Circus Starr, Visyon and Ruby's Fund, Congleton. It was a very successful evening and a fond look back at Cllr. Robert's year as mayor. Stuart also got to catch up with local charity group Friends for Leisure who deliver community support services in both Congleton and Crewe.
Finally, Stuart went to support Mayor Sally's 'Celebrating Diversity' evening building strong bonds with the rich diversity that makes up Crewe community.

Next month, Stuart will be taking on the role of Mayor of Crewe and looks forward to continuing to update everyone for 26/27!!

Deputy Mayor Update - March 2026

After a quiet start to the year, March has come in with a lot of activity!
At the end of February Stuart joined Mayor Sally at the Trefoil Guild Thinking Day and the Town of Culture Bid Launch. On International Women's Day, Stuart spoke with the stall holders at the Crewe Market Hall and organiser Her-Place Charitable Trust. Stuart also represented the Crewe Town Council at a meeting organised by Body Positive in Chester to look at the year ahead for LGBTQ+ events and support.
Going into the month he joined others at the Bee Inspired launch at the Crewe Lyceum and then on to support Nantwich Mayor Cllr Mary Slinn at the Charity Quiz Night at the Nantwich Civic Hall. He also joined our Mayor Cllr Sally Graham for the opening of the Crewe Community Grocery shop in Crewe.
Then on the 19th Stuart attended the Krazy Races launch back at the Crewe Lyceum which is going to be an amazing event for Crewe in May, raising money for The Joshua Tree.
Stuart represented Crewe at the High Sheriff's Annual Breakfast in Chester, having the opportunity to speak to the High Sheriff, Cllr Simon Eardley, and the Deputy Mayor of Ellesmere Port, Cllr Pete Jones.
To round off the month, Stuart went along with the Mayor to view the latest art exhibition by the young people from 4 More which was filled with amazing talent.
