Think fostering is only for young children?

Teenagers need foster homes too – often the most. They bring personality, humour, resilience… and just need someone to believe in them. You don’t need to be perfect – just patient, supportive, and open 🫶

When children come into care, they often face losing everything familiar.

For siblings, being separated from each other can be one of the hardest parts. We’re looking for foster carers who can offer a home to brothers and sisters together, so they can keep that vital bond 🤝

If you can help us to keep families connected, please enquire today: https://www.foster4.co.uk/enquire/

What a fantastic way to wrap up Foster Care Fortnight — enjoying a game of crazy golf with our wonderful foster families.

A huge thank you to The Beeches Golf in Knutsford for hosting us, to Seth for making sure everything ran smoothly, and to our foster carer Simon for organising the day.

There were plenty of laughs, a few impressive holes‑in‑one, and lots of sunshine. Memories well and truly made.

Today has been such a fab day spent with our wonderful foster carers. It was a joy watching the children in their care get up close to a range of lovely farm animals — stroking them, brushing them, and even taking some for a walk.

Mobile Farm Cheshire joined us with two charming Silkie chickens named Charles and Marilyn, Flopsy the giant bunny, two adorable miniature goats, and two incredibly cuddly sheep.

A huge thank‑you to Friends of the 13 Club Alsager for kindly letting us use their beer garden for the event.

As we come to the end of Foster Care Fortnight, we're shining a spotlight on some of the many different types of fostering, including respite fostering.

Maureen is one of our foster carers who provides respite foster care for a few days a month when required, to offer that essential break to foster carers. Discover more about what this consists of, and how Maureen manages and maintains the relationship with those in her care 👇

We'd like to say a huge thank you to some local (and some not so local) businesses, events and venues for their amazingly generous donations to foster carers for Foster Care Fortnight. We managed to obtain a huge influx of tickets that our foster carers can take advantage of with their families, and is just one way we can give back to our foster carers to say thank you for all of their hard work ♥️

So a big shout out to Alton Towers Bolesworth Just So Festival Shrek's Adventure Jodrell Bank LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Manchester DogFest The Brit Fest, - we've no doubt our foster carers are in for some fantastic days out and experiences all because of you!😇

When fostering a child or young person, developing a close relationship with the birth family can sometimes go overlooked.

We heard from foster carer Jo Bain, who shared her experience of fostering Barry, a young person who she still continues to foster today, after maintaining a great relationship with his birth family👇

Imagine playing such an instrumental part of someone's future.

We've seen so many great examples of the life-changing impact of fostering on a young person throughout Foster Care Fortnight, and Kez's story is no different.

For more reasons on why you should take the leap into fostering, discover our 14 reasons to foster playlist on the Cheshire East YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0u1acufUxfk&list=PLN2vuQipQkzDspCKz-4vTExnQH1i7vi4o

This is Fostering 💡

At just 27 Kez is a business owner, travelling across the world for a job she loves. She also has a deep-rooted drive to share her own experiences to support other care experienced people. 🗨️

But Kez says she wasn’t always this confident. Attending a prestigious school where she was the only student with care experience meant she struggled to find her place.

However, Kez’s foster carers saw she had a natural flair for creativity and advocacy, even though she didn’t know it herself. They encouraged her to read and attend clubs – fuelling a passion for acting, music, sports and dancing, all from a place of real love and determination to see Kez achieve her potential. 💫

They are all still close, and while Kez’s own hard work and determination is clear – she thanks her foster carers for their support, seeing her strengths and believing in her future. ❤️
