A single glove gave officers a helping hand in solving vehicle crime in Crawley.

Police were called to reports of two males – wearing dark clothing, balaclavas and gloves – trying car doors in the early hours of the morning.

A Dog Unit officer located the two suspects and spotted three gloves discarded close by.

She detained them with the help of six-year-old German Shepherd PD Nessa while awaiting back-up, and was able to put her finger on it when a fourth glove matching the other three was found on one of the suspects.

The missing piece of the puzzle fit like a glove and the suspects were arrested.
