Friends of "The Wimpey Fields" Communal and nature conservation area. This page was set up in the hope of sharing a fantastic area that we are blessed to have as a village. There is nature in abundance, flora and fauna.

Let's not forget our community spirit when we post or comment. Fair discussion is tolerated, please, no personal remarks. I wouldn't imagine many people in Staplehurst don't know The Wimpey Fields. Luckily, a small parcel of land has been given to the village after the development of "Saxon Mead" for us to continue to enjoy as a fairly wild but more recognised area for nature, education and outdoor activities. With the help of this page, we can develop it's future to benefit the community as a whole. The construction of the pond area, encouraging the increase of the existing wildlife. Please feel fee to add your own photographs, memories of walking there as a child, how it's changed and why you think it's important to the village. Also this page is a great place for us to discuss volunteer based activities such as maintenance, litter picking (hopefully we won't have to do so much of that!) Listen to and share ideas of how we think it should progress under the watchful eye of some experienced groups. Looking forward to your photos and feedback and enjoying this area for the long and distant future.
