Good luck to Scotland tonight as they begin their FIFA World Cup campaign! ⚽🏴

Corby is proud of its Scottish heritage.

During the 1930s, thousands of Scottish families travelled south to start a new life and work in the town’s expanding steel industry, helping shape the Corby we know today.

Affectionately known as “Little Scotland”, Corby continues to celebrate those strong Scottish roots while also being a diverse and welcoming community, enriched by people from many backgrounds and cultures.

My own family was among those who made that journey south, and like generations before us, we remain proud of our Scottish roots.

On behalf of Corby Town Council, we wish Scotland every success tonight.

The whole town will be cheering you on! Well most of the Town 😊

Come on Scotland! 💙🤍

It was a pleasure to attend last weekend the Royal Garden Party in Coronation Park alongside Mayor of Corby Town Council Cllr Steve O'Brien, celebrating the life and legacy of Queen Elizabeth II on what would have been her 100th birthday.

This fantastic community event, organised by the Friends of Coronation Park and led by the wonderful Gillian Green, brought together residents of all ages for an afternoon of live entertainment, local stalls, family activities and a great community atmosphere.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in making the day such a success and showcasing the very best of community spirit in Corby. 🌳🇬🇧🎶

🏃‍♂️🏋️ Mayor Visits Hyrox Corby 🏋️‍♀️🏃‍♀️

It was a pleasure to join the Mayor of Corby Steve O'Brien at last Saturday’s HYROX Corby event.

HYROX UK Community is a fitness race that combines running with functional workout stations, testing strength, endurance and determination.

It was fantastic to see so many people taking part and supporting one another throughout the day.

A huge thank you to local businessman Jack Leese for organising such an amazing event.

The atmosphere was incredible and showcased the very best of Corby’s sporting and community spirit.

Well done to everyone who took part, volunteered and supported the event.

☀️Dangerous Road Junctions motorists blinded by over grown grass verges.☀️

I’ve been contacted by residents about grass verge cutting across Corby.

There is an important discussion to be had around supporting biodiversity, wildlife habitats and reducing unnecessary cutting where appropriate.

However, we also have to recognise the very real dangers created when overgrown verges affect visibility for road users.

With the recent warm weather, vegetation growth has escalated quickly, but some main road junctions and access points are now becoming dangerous for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians due to restricted sight lines.

I will be raising this with North Northamptonshire Council and North Northamptonshire Highways to seek clarity on the current cutting schedule, prioritisation of junctions and main roads, and how urgent safety issues are being addressed across Corby.

Protecting biodiversity and protecting road users should not be mutually exclusive we need a sensible balance.

If there are particular junctions or locations causing concern, please comment below or message me directly. Beanfield St Brendans, Danesholme Road, Danesholme Road A6003.

🌟 Congratulations to our new Mayor and Deputy Mayor! 🌟

Last night at the Corby Town Council AGM, I was absolutely delighted to see Cllr Steve O'Brien elected as Mayor and Cllr William Colquhoun elected as Deputy Mayor.

Two fantastic community champions who care deeply about Corby and work tirelessly to support our communities.

I’m really looking forward to working alongside them both in the year ahead.

If you would like the Mayor to attend your business, community group, organisation, event or local activity that makes a positive contribution to our community, please do get in touch.

Congratulations Steve and William wishing you both every success for the year ahead.

Great to see the Callum Reilly Mayor of Corby Town Council supporting The Good Slice of Pizza Corby last weekend. 🍕

An incredible group of volunteers giving up their time every month to raise money for local charities through fantastic community pizza events.

This month’s fundraising supported Marie Curie UK, Andys Man Club Corby and Together We Stand NN, with support from local business FoodMakers.

Community spirit at its very best in Corby. 👏❤️
