K9 Search and Rescue NI were delighted to be invited to London last week to attend a fantastic charity dinner hosted by Serve On at the prestigious Cavalry & Guards Club.

The evening brought together supporters, volunteers, veterans, business leaders and emergency response professionals from across the UK in support of Serve On’s incredible work both nationally and internationally.

The event was a tremendous success, raising vital funding to support Serve On’s volunteer training and operational capabilities. Guests enjoyed an evening filled with inspiring stories, generosity and a shared passion for humanitarian and emergency response work.

It was particularly inspiring to hear from members of Serve On’s International Response Team and trainees, whose stories highlighted the dedication, resilience and commitment required to support communities during disasters and emergencies around the world.

K9 Search and Rescue NI would like to thank Serve On for the invitation and hospitality throughout the evening. It was a privilege to spend time with colleagues and friends who share the same ethos of volunteer service and community support.

A special mention must also go to the charity raffle and auction which certainly proved popular on the night — and we remain especially grateful to our friends at Serve On for helping keep quiet exactly how much our Deputy Team Leader spent… particularly from his wife!

Events like these are a reminder of the strength of the search and rescue community and the importance of organisations continuing to work together, support one another and build strong relationships across the sector.

We look forward to continuing our friendship and cooperation with Serve On in the future.

With the very hot weather, please remember that pets need plenty of hydration and must be kept as cool as possible. ☀️🐾

At K9 Search and Rescue NI, we are incredibly fortunate to be sponsored by Oralade, whose products make a massive difference to the wellbeing and recovery of our search dogs.

Hydration is one of the most overlooked parts of pet health 💧

Dehydration can happen very quickly — especially during illness, warm weather, or after exercise — and water alone is not always enough to replace what has been lost 💭

That’s where Oralade helps, supporting fast rehydration with essential electrolytes when pets need it most 💙

Please keep a close eye on your pets during this warm spell, avoid exercising dogs in the hottest parts of the day, and always ensure they have access to fresh water and shade.

NEVER leave a dog in a car, even for a short time, with the windows down.

What an incredible achievement 👏🐾

21 amazing runners from the Renal Unit at Ulster Hospital crossed the finish line of the Belfast Marathon together in support of K9 Search and Rescue NI, raising a fantastic £3,292 for our charity.

The team took on this challenge in memory of a family member of one of our K9 members, making the event even more meaningful for everyone involved.

From all of us at K9 Search and Rescue NI, thank you for your support, determination, and generosity. Every donation will help our volunteer search teams and dogs continue their vital work 💙

𝐈𝐭𝐬 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐞 𝐃𝐨𝐠 𝐃𝐚𝐲

National Rescue Dog Day is proudly observed annually on May 20th, to bring awareness to the countless number of amazing dogs in shelters around the country who deserve a second chance at a forever home.

K9 Search and Rescue NI is extremely proud that a lot of our highly trained Search and Rescue Dogs, are in fact rescued themselves!

“From Rescued to Rescuer”

Isn’t it amazing that dogs that were abandoned, and in some cases abused, are now used by our team to locate missing people, not just here in NI, but wherever they are needed?

Post pics of your rescued pups below!

K9 Search and Rescue NI would like to express our sincere gratitude to Mr Brian Allen for his extremely generous donation of six F41 4G radios, complete with fist microphones and charging stations.

Donations such as this make a significant difference to our operational capability, improving both team communications and the safety of our volunteers during searches and deployments.

As a volunteer-led organisation, support from the public and local community is invaluable, and we are incredibly thankful for Mr Allen’s kindness and generosity.

From all at K9 Search and Rescue NI — thank you for your continued support.
