BILBROOK - WE'RE LOOKING FOR YOUR IDEAS!

Bilbrook Parish Council is always looking for funding to apply for to make Bilbrook a better place to live. We have been informed of one such pot that would be around £50,000 - £60,000.

The Parish Council is seeking input from residents on how best to use these funds for community benefit to help support our bid. We already have some project ideas and would like to know if you support them.

None of the initiatives has been costed in detail, but an estimate of the magnitude has been suggested. Larger projects may require additional funding sources alongside this grant.

We are also open to other suggestions from Bilbrook residents we haven't thought of yet. To give our application the best chance of success, any suggestions should meet the criteria of the funding body:

👷🏻They are looking to fund one or two large-scale projects that will benefit Bilbrook for years to come, rather than lots of smaller, short-term initiatives.

🍎The project must directly improve the physical or mental health of our residents, such as encouraging active lifestyles, mental wellbeing, or social connection.

🟢The project should ideally take place on land owned either by Bilbrook Parish Council or South Staffs Council as we are unlikely to get funding for projects on privately owned land.

This grant is for creating or building something completely new. It cannot be used for routine maintenance or repairs (for example, we cannot apply for funding to fill potholes)

Please follow the link below to let us know what you think of our ideas, or share your own proposals with us.

With just a few days to go on the Regulation 16 Consultation for the Bilbrook Neighbourhood Plan, it's an opportunity to remind everyone why the Plan was started.

Why did we do it?

• To help Bilbrook people have a say in how their area changes in the future.

• To set out a shared plan for Bilbrook based on what residents, businesses, and local groups want.

• To help shape planning decisions for Bilbrook, so future planning applications are considered against local priorities as well as wider planning rules.

• To protect what Bilbrook people value locally, such as green spaces, community facilities, historic buildings, and the character of the area.

• To support improvements to the Bilbrook neighbourhood, including things like transport, parks, cycling routes, and local services.

• To encourage the right type of growth by helping make sure development meets Bilbrook’s needs and benefits the community.

• To give clearer guidance to developers about what Bilbrook people want to see in new developments.

• To bring the community together by giving residents opportunities to share ideas and help shape the future of Bilbrook.

• To create a plan for the future of Bilbrook that aims to balance change with protecting the things that make the area special.

To see how this will work in practice, visit the link below to South Staffordshire Council's Regulation 16 Consultation, where you can read the Bilbrook Neighbourhood Plan and give your comments and feedback. The consultation closes on 26th May 2026.

Bilbrook Parish Council has submitted its Draft Neighbourhood Plan to the council.

This year we’ve expanded our award categories, including our brand-new **Animal Award**, so every local hero has the chance to shine. 🐾
