Officers from both Forest North and Forest South NPT were engaged in proactive work yesterday as part of and knife crime awareness week.
This included carrying out plain clothes patrols looking to target individuals who may be carrying weapons within the Forest of Dean.
We are pleased to report that we did not encounter anybody in possession of any weapons however whilst out on patrol we noticed a vehicle of interest to us and it was stopped as it entered Bream.
The three occupants were all detained for searches as we suspected they may be involved in drug dealing and following searches cash and Class B drugs valuing several thousand pounds were recovered from within the vehicle.
As a result of this, a 25yr old male from Sling, a 40yr old male from Alvington and a 30yr old female from Upton Bishop were all arrested on suspicion of Possession with intent to supply Class B drugs.
All three were interviewed by officers on the team and have been released on bail whilst we carry out further enquiries into the matter and gather further evidence.
We also thank our colleagues from Roads Policing Unit and Forest Response who assisted us in dealing with the matter.
