Campfires burning, Campfires burning, Draw nearer. . . . 1st New Romney Beavers and Mulberry Cubs had a funtastic time @ 1st Lydd at their first Campfire of the season. After a mixed weather day, we all held our breath - BUT the sun shone and the evening was just perfick. We dined in the open air, cooking our very own 3 course meal - Twisters with all sorts of fillings:- cheese, choc spread and golden syrup followed by hot dogs, not a burnt offering in sight!!! Our Beavers are the most amazing hot dog preppers - the results YUM YUM with generous helpings of ketchup and then the S’mores - one of the highlights of the evening with the biggest ever giant marshmallows!!! All sandwiched in the most delicious chocolate biscuits!!
And - we followed with the ever popular Campfire songs as the round up to a great evening. We learnt so many - Animal Fayre; Alice the Camel; Heads n Shoulders; BINGO; Beaver Smile; Litter . . . . . Ging Gang Gooli. . . And there were more . . . . . .
Huge thank you to 1st Lydd for hosting the event and our amazing Leaders for pulling it all together. A special shout out to Rick and Veronica for leading one great evening and to all the Leaders who helped.
And . . . . . the term promises to get better as we celebrate World Ocean Day next week; The Beaver Challenge 40 project - starting with the Sandcastle Challenge; Adopt a farm animal and visiting the Rare Breeds as part of our 40th Birthday celebrations PLUS the Amazing Chocolate AGM - Games and fun to support our chosen local charity - Last Chance Animal Rescue New Romney. We welcome everyone from the wider community to join us for one amazing evening.
That’s only the start of the Scouting Adventure for June - and still leaves room for even more fun in July so come along and join in - our Scouting year keeps getting better. . . .
In Volunteer Week we would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all our Leaders and Supporters for coming up with fun ideas, adventures and great opportunities at every single meeting. . . . You really are LEGENDS

For the last 2 weeks mulberry cubs have been working towards their community impact and environmental conservation badges with Chris last night we were litter picker in littlestone. Well done to them all.

Well it was quite a long time ago that we made bird boxes. January 2024 in fact.
In between we had to clear out the garage to convert it to a new Scouts room.
Whilst doing that we found one of the bird boxes - 2 weeks ago we mounted on the tree.
This week new residents moved in.
We have a family of Coal T**s.
How great is that.
How many other bird boxes are in use?

Scouts celebrate St. George’s Day because Robert Baden-Powell, the founder of Scouting, appointed Saint George as the patron saint of the movement…. Happy St. George’s Day from 1st New Romney Scout Group. The Beavers have had great fun learning about St George this week. We’re looking forward to our Celebration Parade on Sunday.

A HUGE shout out and thank you to Yolanda and her amazing team from Teach Me. Together they organised and ran an Easter Pottery Painting Day @ 1st New Romney Scout HQ which was fab. Hq was packed!! An inter-generational community fun project, opportunities to be creative for all ages plus some exciting games with great prizes. Happy, Happy, Smiles all round!
We raised 850 pounds which will be used to support Beavers and Cubs in their Birthday year - Whoopee, we are celebrating 40 years of Beavers and 110 for cubs. . . . Any local SUPERHEROES who want to come and join in the Scouting Adventure are welcome to join us. . . . Come along to a meeting or PM for further details. . . . Our Summer Term statrs on Monday 20th April for Cubs and Tuesday 21st April for Beavers, Scouts and Explorers. . . . .

Happy Easter from 1st New Romney Beavers!! We had a fab time @ Prescott House this week making Easter cards with a fab team of ladies. Jack officially joined the Colony and was invested as a Beaver. The biggest surprise was when the Easter Bunny arrived with Easter Eggs for everybody!! Thank you Sally for organising a great evening. Thank you to our Leaders Ringtail, Malik, Bubbles and Rainbow for always being amazing.
