Help shape the future of your local play parks
A playground climbing frame with a roof, a wavy slide, and monkey bars on a rubber mat surface in a park.
We're planning on making improvements to some of our play parks over the next five years, and we need your help to decide where up to £3 million of investment should be spent.

We want to make our play spaces safer, more welcoming and accessible.

To help us prioritise funding, we're looking at things like the condition of play equipment, accessibility, safety, local need and whether there are other play areas nearby.

Your feedback is an important part of the decision-making process.

We want to hear from everyone who uses, or would like to use, our parks, including children and young people, parents and carers, teenagers, older people, people with disabilities, walkers, dog owners and local residents.

The improvements will be funded through developer contributions and Community Infrastructure Levy funding, which are used to support local infrastructure projects.

Our online survey closes on 27 September.

LGR update following government announcement

The government has today (Monday 7 September) announced a review of its local government reorganisation programme and paused work on unitary councils in Devon.

The review will consider whether current proposals to streamline local government are robust, legally compliant, and aligned with the government’s wider ambitions to reform public services and devolve power to local communities.

As part of this review, work on local government reorganisation in 14 areas, including Devon, has been paused while the government reassesses its position. The government has also withdrawn reorganisation decisions affecting Essex, Hampshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.

The government has confirmed that local elections scheduled for May 2027 will still take place, although they will be conducted using existing council boundaries.
