A very successful Community Skip morning at Hallgate/Astley Park. This was a joint intiative between Chorley Borough Council & Places for People. Councillors, residents & Streetscene operative unloaded flatbeds, car boots & helped to carry unwanted items to be recycled & disposed of. The sun eventually shone too.

📢 Our next community skip clean-up day takes place THIS SATURDAY, 13 June, 9am to 12pm, at Hallgate Car Park, (Near Astley Park), Astley Village, Chorley, PR7 1XA.

It’s a great chance to dispose of unwanted household items. Just bring your items along on the day!

⚠ Please remember:
❌ No trade waste or hazardous materials (e.g. paint tins with paint, rubber tyres). These items must be disposed of through alternative arrangements.

If you’re a vulnerable resident who may struggle to bring items to the skip, contact us at least five working days before the event to discuss possible support. All rubbish must be placed outside at the front of your property.

Sincere condolences to Mary Judith and Michelle
RIP Tommy

I was very sad to learn of the death of Tommy Gray today.

A good friend for many years, Tommy served the local community as both a Councillor for Euxton and Mayor of Chorley. He took great pride in these roles, carrying them out with dedication and commitment, and thoroughly enjoyed serving the community he cared so much about.

He was a loyal public servant and a genuinely kind man who will be greatly missed by many.

My thoughts and sympathies are with his family and friends at this sad time.
