A quick photo of just some of the the team out in Blockley Ward yesterday delivering the message:

-Improved access to vital services, fighting to save Moreton Hospital

-Creating sustainable communities by helping residents with the cost of living and providing genuinely affordable social housing.

-Holding Severn Trent and Thames Water to account for their dire performance that harms our rivers and waterways year after year.

The Campaign for the upcoming Blockley by-election started this evening. I’ll be campaigning for sustainable communities that work for everyone. Starting with lobbying for improved access to vital public health services in rural areas, too often forgotten in the decision making process.

Revolving doors have always, in my mind, been a useless invention.

But their use in politics is dangerous.

Here’s Seven Reasons why Seven Prime Ministers in ten years will have an adverse effect on Campden-Vale:

1. Further loss of trust in politicians. It’s not a game. Labour and the Conservatives have a plague on both their houses, putting Party before Country.

2. Loss of business confidence. How can local businesses be expected to grow in an environment where economic policy changes ALL the time?!

3. Planning Policy up in the air AGAIN. Another Prime Minister will mean ANOTHER approach to development.

4. The District and County Councils will have a new set of ministers to deal with, leaving both Councillors and Officers trying to wrap their heads around a new Government.

5. POTHOLES!! Will a new Government cut funding for local government? How can long term planning to fix the damn things be put in place when we have no idea how much money the Government will provide?

6. Local Government reorganisation: will it be scrapped? Will the parameters change? Who knows?!

7. IT’S EMBARRASSING. In dangerous international times we’re in danger of the country becoming a laughing stock.
