Remembering Diego Pongo 🇺🇸
Diego Pongo dedicated his life to serving others, living by the values of commitment, courage, and loyalty. After enlisting in the United States Marine Corps in 2004, he rose through the ranks from rifleman to sniper before becoming part of the distinguished Marine Raiders.
Across years of deployments and high-risk missions, Diego became known as a trusted teammate, a steady leader, and someone who always looked out for those around him.
His service took him through some of the world’s most difficult operational environments, including Iraq and Afghanistan. Those who served beside him admired his professionalism, resilience, and the way he faced every challenge with determination.
In March 2020, Diego was killed in action during an operation in northern Iraq while supporting his fellow Raiders. He was 34 years old.
His passing left a lasting impact on his loved ones and the brothers and sisters who had the honor of serving with him. More than his achievements, he is remembered for his character, his sacrifice, and the example he set.
Today, we honor Diego Pongo’s life, his service, and the legacy he leaves behind. He will always be remembered. 🕊️
