As part of an annual tradition, Chesham crew were proud to lead the procession for the Schools of Chesham Carnival.

We were also pleased to be joined by our VIP guest, Sarah Green MP, who accompanied the crew behind the appliance and our town Mayor on the back of a tractor behind us.

It was a fantastic day, with some amazing floats on display, and a great reflection of the community spirit that makes Chesham so special.

This afternoon at 15:11, Chesham crew were mobilised to a person trapped inside a vehicle in Amersham.

As the individual had been inside the car for a considerable time, crews acted quickly and used small tools to gain access and safely extricate him from the vehicle.

With temperatures high, vehicles can become extremely hot in a short space of time, posing a serious risk to anyone trapped inside.

Chesham Fire Station is a stand alone On Call Station. This means there is no full time crew based here and is solely operated by On Call Firefighters.

This evening at 20:23, crews from Chesham Fire Station were mobilised to a person stuck in a lift at Sainsbury’s, Chesham. Using a hooligan bar and spreading equipment, crews were able to release the lift doors and safely rescue the trapped person.

While making up from that incident, crews were immediately mobilised again to an automatic fire alarm activation on Bellingdon Road. Fortunately, this was caused by burnt food.

A busy evening for Chesham crews.

Please Help Us Keep This Area Clear

We are seeing bags of clothing being left outside the clothing recycling bin when it is full.

Please do not leave bags, clothes or any other items outside the bin. When items are left on the ground, they often become damaged, wet or treated as rubbish, which means our crew then have to clear the area and go through the waste themselves.

If the bin is full, please take your items away and return another time, or use an alternative clothing recycling point.

Thank you for your support and for helping us keep the area clean and safe.

This evening at 17:51, Chesham crew and our Rural Firefighting Vehicle were mobilised to a fire in the open at Hervines Park, Amersham.

Due to restricted access, the fire engine was unable to reach the location of the fire. Our RFV is specifically designed for incidents like this, allowing crews to access difficult terrain quickly and safely, helping to bring the fire under control.

A great example of why specialist vehicles like the RFV are so valuable in supporting our crews and protecting the local community.

Today we are remembering Firefighters Jennie and Martyn, and member of the public Dave who sadly lost their lives at the tragic fire at Bicester Motion.
