Fynelassies

Fynelassies We are a small group of women who swim at St Catherines , Loch Fyne and at Duck Bay, Loch Lomond. It’s what makes us happy 🧜‍♀️💜 Come along and join us

We love a good blether, a laugh and are known to burst into song when swimming. We swim at St Catherines most weekends. I also swim at Duck Bay Loch Lomond at 7am during the week apart from a Tuesday which is 7pm.

June and Jim’s Bit
Loch Fyne

Two bonnie lassies were out today for a swim in beautiful Loch Fyne. June and Jacqui both managed a swim to the buoy and back which is over 600m. Great distance! Well done lassies 💜🧜‍♀️🙌🏻

Loch Lomond
Air 10c. Water 14.5c

Two halves this morning sunshine and blue skies to the right and to the left dark skies with rain! We know what side we preferred 🤣 Karen, Meg, Maleen, Bruno and Cupcake were all out. Water level is up slightly and water temperature exactly the same as yesterday. We all enjoyed a lovely swim out towards the buoys. We enjoyed a good blether as we swam in the morning sunshine. Great place, great company 💜🧜‍♀️
What a wonderful way to start our day !

Happy Friday everyone! Have a great weekend 😘

May has been such a lovely month, especially with all the new lassies joining us on our swims.

It’s been a real privilege watching them go from feeling nervous and unsure about getting into the water, to gradually finding their confidence, relaxing, and discovering their own enjoyment in it. Some have embraced dipping, others have taken to swimming, but every single one of them has achieved something they perhaps didn’t think they could when they first turned up.

One of the best parts has been seeing new friendships form. There’s plenty of laughter, encouragement, and of course the ongoing challenge of remembering everyone’s names – although, to be fair, we’re all at that menopausal age now, so we give ourselves a pass on that one! 🤣

What I love most is seeing them fully embrace wild swimming and all its addictive qualities. The sense of achievement, the connection with nature, the post-swim buzz, and the smiles that appear after every dip. It’s amazing to watch their confidence grow week by week.

Seeing them go from apprehensive to absolutely loving it has been such a joy. They’ve discovered what so many of us already know – that wild swimming has a way of getting under your skin. And now they love, love, LOVE it too! 💜🧜‍♀️

A wee selection of photos.. hope l got everyone 💜

We thought it was going to be lashing rain but as we all arrived the rain stopped. Still no view due to low clouds but the water level was up slightly due to all the rain. Midgies were out in force 😬🦟🦟 Christine, Tracy and Lorna all enjoyed a dook. Emma,
Hazel , Ally , Karen, Bruno and Cupcake all swam out towards the buoys.
Great company as always lassies!
Have a great day too 🧜‍♀️💜🐥
