Local artist, decorator, shopkeeper and well-dressing designer Robert Brunt drew many scenes of his home town, Buxton.

His paintings were created from memory rather than observation. Although in a naïve style we think they convey a real sense of how our town would have been in the 1830's.

This pencil image shows us the old gated entrance to the Crescent.
