Train privatisation has been a undeniable failure!
Meanwhile in Scotland, ScotRail is publicly owned and they recently scrapped peak fares and standardised off peak prices. Now, a train ticket from Glasgow to Edinburgh costs £16.80 when it used to be £32.60.
Curbing the price gouging of neoliberalism and the experiment of privatisation, by ending the cost of living crisis in these ways, is key to stopping the rise of the far right, and making a difference in people's lives.
Labour won't do it, they only want a half nationalisation that will keep the rolling stock companies privatised and profiteering by passing on the cost of leasing trains onto your tickets.
We in the Green Party do stand by public ownership and against privatisation.
Democratic full public ownership of trains now!
The failure of rail privatisation in one graphic. What an absolute farce.
How as a country can we possibly have an integrated public transport system with these prices.
Cost of living crisis anyone….🤬
