This morning’s event brought together inspiring conversations, honest reflections, and different perspectives on career journeys.

We welcomed our new Bondholder and brought together experienced Bondholders alongside our third cohort of Future Leaders for an open, cross-generational discussion exploring “What I wish I knew in my 20s vs How I feel in my 20s.”

Our Bondholders shared their career paths, changes in direction, lessons learned, and the experiences that shaped them, while our Future Leaders reflected on building confidence, setting boundaries, and finding fulfilment at work.

The conversation explored topics including:
• Purpose vs Money
• Loyalty vs Career Pivots
• Going Above and Beyond vs Quiet Quitting
• Confidence vs Imposter Syndrome
• Ambition vs Professionalism

A brilliant session full of honest insights and shared experiences, proving that no matter where we are in our careers, there’s always more to learn.

Burnley College Dance is heading to the national stage!

A talented group of first-year Advanced Vocational Dance learners has been selected as one of just eight schools and youth dance organisations from across England to perform at the Making Moves National Platform at Sadler’s Wells East this July as part of YFX 2026.

Representing the North West, the dancers will showcase *Out of Line* – an original piece created with Olivier Award-winning choreographer Fin Walker that explores themes of control, conformity and rebellion through contemporary dance.

After impressing at the regional platform at The Lowry in Salford, the group secured their place at the national showcase and will now perform on one of the UK's most prestigious stages while working alongside professional technical teams.

An incredible achievement and a testament to the creativity, talent and dedication within Burnley College Dance.

Lukman Patel, chief executive at Burnley Council, said: “I know the judges were incredibly impressed by the entries and it was a tough job to whittle 150 down to the finalists. This was especially the case in the micro business category, which accounted for a fifth of total entries.

“It’s testament to the hard work and resilience of our business community and I’d like to thank Burnley businesses for their commitment to raising the prosperity of the borough. And to those who did not make the finals, please do not be disheartened, the volume of entries was high, and we’d certainly encourage you to bring your success stories to us once again at the next Burnley Business Awards. Of course, everyone is still welcome to attend to celebrate the success of their hard-working employees.

“All the best to the finalists and we look forward to celebrating the borough’s determination on the night of the awards. We’re delighted it can once again be held at Towneley Hall following its extensive restoration. I’d also like to once again thank all of our sponsors and judges, in particular our headline sponsor VEKA, who are celebrating 40 years of being in the borough.”
