Friends of Whitehall Recreation Ground We are a small group of local volunteers whose aim is to enhance Whitehall Recreation Ground. We organise a wide variety of activities.

The Friends of Whitehall Recreation Ground exist to:

Encourage the informal enjoyment of the park’s facilities. Promote the conservation, protection and improvement of Whitehall Rec. Promote the conservation of the natural flora and fauna of the park. Through fundraising, provide amenities which would not normally be the responsibility of the London Borough of Bromley. We work in collaboration with various groups in the community to promote these objectives and also to support other like minded bodies. We work particularly closely with the Chatterton Village Association, London Borough of Bromley’s parks department, Raglan Primary School and the local neighbourhood community Police. We run a series of different events which raises much needed funds for many projects along with bringing the community together.

QUICK UPDATE - the rocker will be repaired / replaced. It’s a shame that the council/ idverde wouldn’t do the same with the seesaw.

Sad to report that we have lost one of our beautiful trees on the Bowie Avenue. Also one of our two rockers has been broken - we will find out more about what will happen to it and share.

Coolings Garden centre organise and host the wonderful Bromley In Bloom 2026 event. We entered the competition to highlight the wonderful work our volunteers do. We are very proud to come second to The Elmstead Woods station volunteers.
Well done to Coolings for supporting and celebrating all the wonderful gardeners in Bromley.

EarPods found last week. Please get in touch if you lost some in the park.

Thankyou to Spider from BEECHE High Elms for a wonderful bat walk. Also huge thanks to the lovely people who came on our bat walk and donated. The bats gave us a great display there are so many in Whitehall. We had common pipistrelles, soprano pipistrelles and Noctules ( notules are one of our biggest, fastest flying bats! )
