Disability Pride is returning for 2026! All welcome for an afternoon of Disabled talent, including music, comedy, poetry and dance.

This is a free event taking place on Saturday 21st November 1pm to 3pm at Bromley United Reformed Church, 20 Widmore Road, Bromley, BR1 1RY. Many thanks to our sponsors The Azelia Hall Charity, London Biggin Hill Airport and Bromley Lions Club.

These free sessions provide a relaxed, inclusive space for friendly conversation, optional activities and free refreshments.

Could you help us deliver our Disability Pride Event in Bromley? Bromley X by X are looking for Event Volunteers for Saturday 21st November.

Each year, we hold our Disability Pride Event to bring together local Deaf and Disabled performers and people across Bromley to celebrate inclusive talent.

We’re looking for volunteers to help the team make sure the day runs smoothly. This is a great role if you’d like some light event experience, want to use your people skills and believe in inclusion.

There are two roles, each only requiring a short amount of your time, both making a huge difference! (you don’t need to be Deaf or Disabled to volunteer in these roles)

The Roles:
Event Support Volunteers help us make sure the event runs smoothly and that attendees are comfortable, registered at the event and get the information they need. You’ll be doing things like:
• Supporting a staff member on a stall or registration desk.
• Making sure the room is ready with enough chairs.
• General event preparation.
• Handing out feedback forms.

Meet and Greet Volunteers help event attendees have a comfortable, accessible experience. Having someone to specifically welcome attendees, and get them settled in, makes a big difference! You’ll be doing things like:
• Meeting attendees from taxis and show them into the venue.
• Greeting attendees as they come into the event space.
• Helping attendees find a seat.
• Letting people know where the loos and other facilities are.
• Taking attendees back to taxis after the event closes.

IMPORTANT: You won’t be asked to offer any personal care, and we don’t expect you to push any wheelchair user in their chair.

When? /Where? / For How Long? – Both Roles:
• Bromley United Reformed Church, 20 Widmore Road, Bromley, BR1 1RY
• Saturday 21st November 2026
• Arriving by 11.50am for a 12pm (midday) volunteer briefing
• Staying for at least 90 minutes, though you are welcome for longer and if you can stay until 3.45pm, that would be extra helpful.
• You are welcome to stay for refreshments and to join the event!

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has launched an Action Plan for Deaf and Disabled Londoners. The publication of the plan represents an important step towards embedding Disabled people’s voices in the Greater London Authority (GLA)’s policies and practices.

Join our next Bromley Mental Health Forum for a Question and Answer (Q&A) session on mental health services with Aisling Clifford, Service Director for Adult Acute and Crisis Mental Health at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust.

The Timms Review steering group want Disabled people and people with experience of PIP to join a workshop to help shape the final recommendations for PIP.
