Kingswood Town Council are committed to enabling our residents to have access to free activities which support health and well being. A few years ago there was an offer from the Lawn Tennis Association to refit our courts...but it came with a condition of locking the gates, imposing a booking system, and introducing a fee to use the courts. We want services to be free at the point of use in Kingswood, which is why we are investing in the courts, as an investment in the people of Kingswood.

This summer, we are bringing our 'Your voice...' events to your local community, to make it even easier to talk about the issues which matter to you.

Instead of holding meetings, we will be attending popular local events in the four 'Your voice...' areas, to provide information about services and give you the opportunity to ask any questions.

Kingswood Town Council is investing in support for residents.

Citizens Advice South Gloucestershire is launching its latest free advice drop-in session on 4th June in Kingswood, funded by Kingswood Town Council.

The session will run on Thursdays from 1-3pm at Kingsmeadow at MadeForever Community Hub😊

➡ Citizens Advice South Gloucestershire helped more people from Kingswood than any other parish area last year. This shows there is a particular need for Kingswood to have its own drop-in. It means residents will be able to access help on their doorstep without having to travel further afield.

➡ The session will be run by a trained Adviser who will be able to help visitors with practically any issue. This includes (but is not limited to) debt, benefits, housing, cost-of-living and relationship breakdown. No appointment is necessary.

Councillor Sean Rhodes, the new Chair of Kingswood Town Council said "Kingswood Town Council is pleased to support the funding of a new Citizens Advice South Gloucestershire service because we recognise the the vital role it will play in providing trusted advice to local residents. At a time when many households are facing growing financial pressure, we are investing in the delivery of accessible, independent advice and support for our residents."

Citizens Advice South Gloucestershire CEO Chantal Watts said: “We are extremely pleased to be starting a new drop-in advice service for Kingswood. There is a particular need for our help in Kingswood, as it was the busiest area of all parishes in South Glos for our charity last year. We are looking forward to Kingswood residents joining areas such as Filton, Staple Hill & Mangotsfield and Frampton Cotterell, Westerleigh & Coalpit Heath in having a drop-in session on their doorstep. Thank you very much to Kingswood Town Council for allowing this session to happen through its funding.”
