There is so much hidden history to be uncovered around West Bay!
Join our Hidden History walk this Thursday morning and discover the important role that horses played in the story of Bridport Harbour.
This walk lasts around 90 minutes, and the terrain is mostly easy.

The brilliant John Collingwood is retiring after many years’ service as Town Crier and Bridport Town Council is looking for a suitable replacement. If interested please contact the Mayor’s secretary on [email protected]

This is a voluntary, honorary role with livery provided and expenses paid. Attendance at certain civic events would be expected. In addition, other opportunities arise to promote the wonderful Bridport. In September we will be hosting a town crier competition for criers from around Dorset so ideally we would like someone in position by then. We are looking for someone who can make themselves heard without amplification! Town criers date back to medieval times when they were essential to deliver important announcements, using the bell and shouting "Oyez, oyez, oyez" to attract attention.

The suite of offices on the top floor of Mountfield are available for rent. Whilst we would prefer them to be rented as one suite, they could be rented individually. There are three separate offices, a kitchen and shower room/toilet. Two of the offices which are south facing and have views through to West Bay and the third overlooks mature trees. Access is via either internal or external stairs.
