Please see below the map highlighting these closures.

Was a pleasure to host our May, Labour and Co-operative Councillor Ward surgery at Trinity Methodist Church Tonge Fold this morning.

Casework covered included assistance with a business rates query for a charitable organisation, advocating for a resident who is experiencing problems with their health and making sure they have access to the right services.

It was lovely to see the church hall buzzing as they also had their coffee morning which is the 2nd Saturday of the month, there was a great sense of community and plenty of great company.

Our next Visit to Trinity Methodist will be Saturday 11th July 2026

Our Next Surgery is 6pm Wednesday 27th May at The Ukrainian Centre, 99 Castle Street, Bolton, BL2 1JP

And our June Surgery will be Saturday 6th June at St Augustine's, Tonge Moor at 11:30am.

At the Council meeting on Wednesday Nick Peel announced that we will bring forward 2 new initiatives.

1. Free use of our leisure centres for the over 65s will no longer be restricted to after 9.30am. Like the free travel on buses for pensioners, we will be removing these restrictions.

2. In recognition of our Gold Award for the Armed Forces Covenant, we will extend free use of our leisure centres to all Armed Forces veterans regardless of age.

Another pledge of this Labour Council to be fulfilled: to improve the health wellbeing of those who have already done their part in serving Bolton.

We were pleased to attend a meeting at Tonge Moor Academy last week to discuss serious concerns about Road Safety and Congestion around the school during pick-up and drop-off times. We heard concerns from staff and pupils about safety, combined with information we have received from local residents we are now in consultation with our Highways Department and the school to assess a safe and viable solution to the problem. As soon as we have further information we will be in touch to let people know.
