It's been another busy week across Little Lever & Darcy Lever, and I wanted to share some of the work taking place on your behalf.
🩵Surgeries - I met this week with staff at Little Lever Library and I'm pleased to confirm that my councillor surgeries will now be held there on the first Friday of every month between 11am and 1pm. I hope to see many of you there and look forward to discussing any issues or concerns you may have.
🩵Mytham Primary School - I met with staff at Mytham regarding ongoing problems with vehicles parking and blocking the Herbert Street entrance. This is causing safety concerns and obstruction issues. I am now reviewing the signage and road hatching with our Highways team to see what improvements can be made.
🩵Fly-Tipping on Masefield Road - Following reports from residents, I visited the park area to the rear of Masefield Road where fly-tipped waste had been dumped and then set on fire. This has apparently become an ongoing issue, so I am exploring measures to prevent vehicles accessing the area and reduce the risk of further incidents.
🩵Crompton Court- Today I met with staff at Crompton Court to discuss local get involved initiatives and the fantastic scheme they have, Everyone was extremely welcoming and I look forward to working with the team on future projects and activities.
🩵Crummock Close - Off Road Bike Concerns- Residents have raised concerns about off-road bikes cutting through the guinnels on the estate, creating a danger for pedestrians, particularly children travelling to and from school. This is something I am actively looking into, and I hope to provide an update soon. Watch this space.
🩵Local Environmental Issues
This week I have also raised a number of reports relating to potholes, grass cutting and other local concerns across Little Lever and Darcy Lever, all these are now with the relevant council officers. I will provide further updates as resolutions are offered.
🩵Horwich North By-Election - I know this isn’t in our ward, but this week our new Reform UK candidate for the Horwich North by-election was announced, Wendy Parkinson, If Wendy is successful, we will increase our representation to 11 councillors and become the official major opposition group on Bolton Council.
If you have friends or family living in Horwich North, please encourage them to get out and vote. Another Reform councillor would strengthen our ability to represent residents across Bolton.
As always, there are plenty more positive developments in the pipeline which I hope to share soon.
If you need to contact me about any local issue please email: [email protected]
Thank you for your continued support.
