Hopefully as many of you may know, the Environment Agency held a drop-in session yesterday at the village hall regarding the flooding experienced in the Village this year. We would really like to thank everyone who attended and hope you all found it useful.

Please Please Please could anyone who was affected by the flooding please visit the Environment Agency at the link below and report the flooding and how it affected you.

https://floodreport.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/Report

We only require 5 properties in the village to report flooding from groundwater, surface water in the house or ground or had difficulties accessing their properties this will then trigger an investigation through section 19 of the Flood and Water Management Act 2010.

This would force a multi-agency investigation including the Environment Agency and Dorset Council and could lead to further flood defences, mitigation or other flood alleviation measures being put into place for the village.

Please could everyone effected consider completing the form.

Drop ins have been arranged in response to the flooding reported in multiple communities across Dorset during January and February this year, the Environment Agency and Dorset Council, together with Wessex Water have arranged a number of Flood Drop in events in hub locations for communities to come and talk about their experience, share information and speak with the relevant organisations about the support that might be available whilst finding out what homes, businesses and communities can do to be better prepared for flooding in the future. There will be information and leaflets available including signing up for and understanding flood warnings, household and business flood plans, Property Flood Resilience (PFR) measures, understanding groundwater, owning a watercourse and responsibilities and water management.
