How can universities better support students who have experienced homelessness?

Our latest Youth Voice Podcast, created in partnership with Birmingham City University, explores the barriers young people face in accessing and staying in higher education and the practical changes that can make a real difference.

Hear from members of our Youth Advisory Board, Sophia and Tadi, as they share their lived experiences of homelessness and education, alongside insights from BCU's Dean of Students, Melanie-Marie Haywood.

YAB and BCU have shone a light on what works, what needs to change, and how institutions can become more inclusive for young people navigating some of life's toughest challenges.

A huge thank you to Birmingham City University for their contribution!

A big thank you to Darran Carter and WISE (Waste Investigations Support & Enforcement) for the generous food donation received by our Outreach Team today.

Donations like these have a direct impact on the young people we support, helping us provide practical essentials to those experiencing homelessness and difficult circumstances.

Thank you again, Darran and everyone at WISE, for your kindness and generosity!

We're pleased to have completed the National Housing Federation's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Data Tool.

By contributing our data, we're helping to build the most up-to-date national picture of equality, diversity and inclusion across the housing association sector.

As a youth homelessness charity, understanding who we are as an organisation helps us reflect on how we can continue to create an inclusive environment for our team and the young people we support.

We look forward to seeing the findings from the sector-wide report later this year.

Today marks Jean Templeton’s official last day at St Basils after more than 25 years of incredible dedication, leadership and unwavering commitment to young people experiencing homelessness.

A huge thank you to The Old Crown in Digbeth for hosting Jean’s leaving celebration on Wednesday evening. It was a truly wonderful send-off, filled with colleagues, friends and business associates - all coming together to celebrate the impact Jean has made over the years and just how much she will be missed.

Thank you, Jean, on behalf of all of us.

As one chapter ends, another begins, and we’re delighted to welcome our new Chief Executive, Marsha Blake, who officially starts on Monday. We look forward to continuing Jean’s amazing work and building on the strong foundations she leaves behind.

A huge thanks to Helen King and the folks at Solihull School for sending us sandwiches to our Youth Hub and projects last week!

We were running low on supplies so it really made a difference to our young people and staff.
