🌼 Garden Competition Open for Entry 2026
🌿 This year’s Annual Garden Competition opens for applications on 1st June and closes on 31st July. There are three categories: Best Communal Garden, Best individual or private garden and Best Community Garden.
🏆Winners will receive a commemorative plaque
and a £50 voucher.
📩Please call us on 0151 647 5471 or email your pictures to us at [email protected], including why you enjoy gardening and what you have achieved in your garden. Judging will take place in early August, with the winners announced at our Annual General Meeting on Friday, 18th September 2026. Good luck!

Northern Housing Award Winners 2026 🎉

Congratulations to the team on winning the award for Best Use of Technology by a Social Landlord. The judges praised Wirral Methodist HA for successfully modernising tenant services through digital platforms that improved communication, repairs performance and operational efficiency. The reduction in contact volumes, arrears and processing costs demonstrated the powerful impact technology can have across the resident experience.

🌟 Ellesmere Port Walkabout Update 🌟

Today we were out and about in Ellesmere Port on our walkabout. It was lovely chatting with neighbours and listening to residents’ feedback on local issues. Your thoughts really help us understand what matters most in the community.

A big thank you to Garry Clark (TAG member) and PCSO Dalton for joining us today and supporting the visit.

👣 Our next walkabout will be in Rock Ferry on Thursday 4th June.

Our office will be closed all day on Thursday, 21st May for staff training and will open as normal on Friday morning at 9 am.

Hamilton Street is officially open! 🎉
We had a fantastic day officially opening our new Hamilton Street development — eight modern homes created from former office space.
A big thank‑you to Cllr Paula Basnett and Deputy Leader Cllr McManus for cutting the ribbon and taking time to meet our new tenants.

This recognition means a lot to us and reflects the hard work, innovation, and dedication of our amazing team. We’re passionate about using technology to improve services and make a real difference for our residents, so being acknowledged for that is something we’re incredibly proud of.

We’re looking for a Repairs Surveyor to help us keep our homes safe, well‑maintained and delivered to a high standard across Wirral Methodist Housing Association.
You’ll manage day‑to‑day repairs, voids and compliance work, using your technical skills to solve problems and keep things running smoothly. We need someone proactive, organised and confident with digital tools — and who puts tenants at the heart of everything they do.

We were delighted to welcome Alison McGovern MP to our newly completed homes on Hamilton Street today!
She met some of our new tenants and saw how this former office building has been transformed into eight high‑quality flats for people who need them most — including those who have experienced homelessness or are leaving care.

A huge thank‑you to our fantastic partners who helped bring this project to life,Interiors Direct – developer, JDA – architect, Drees & Sommer – Principal Designer, Sovini – Development Support and Great Places Housing Group – BLOC Lead. With valued support from Homes England, Wirral Borough Council, and our funders Barclays and Warrington BC.

Alison also met Adam, who shared his journey from homelessness to finally having a safe place to call home. His story is exactly why developments like this matter.

We were pleased to have Kevin Garvey from the National Housing Federation with us as we showcased how we’re turning older buildings and empty sites across the Wirral into much‑needed homes.
