Our Whitworth by-election candidate, Caitlin Chippendale, comes from strong family tradition of serving our community.

🌹

My grandad, Tom Aldred, has always been an inspiration to me and I’m so proud of him. All my life he’s been there, working to support our community as a Rossendale Borough Councillor and as a Whitworth Town Councillor.

I’ve seen how he hard he works to bring communities together and to foster good relationships. There are many politicians around these days who seek to sow division. My grandad isn’t one of them and nor am I.

I’ve learned such a lot from him about tolerance and empathy and that’s reflected in the work I do helping the homeless. It would be a huge honour to follow in my grandad’s footsteps and be elected to serve the communities of Whitworth, Facit and Shawforth.

My pledge to you is that I will always act with the utmost integrity, empathy and fairness and that I will strive to get the best for our area and for all those who call it home.

Your Labour 🌹 candidate will work in co-operation with others to get things done.

Making a difference isn't about who shouts the loudest. It's about listening, attention to detail and a willingness to work with others.

Caitlin has these qualities in abundance and will make an excellent councillor for Whitworth.

Residents of Tonacliffe Road are very concerned about inconsiderate parking at school times, speeding vehicles and gridlock.

As we are all aware, highways are the responsibility of Lancashire County Council. If elected as your Rossendale Borough Councillor, I will work with Lancashire Highways to find a solution.

I believe in co-operation rather than conflict and I will work with all groups to get the best for Whitworth.

The Community First Councillors put forward an excellent plan last year to make sections of Tonacliffe Road one way to help calm traffic and prevent “rat running”. As your ward councillor, I will work with my fellow councillors and the County Council, using this plan as a basis, to get a solution that works for everyone.

Hi, I'm Caitlin Chippendale and I'm your Labour🌹candidate for Whitworth.

I'm Rossendale born and bred and went to Whitworth High School, where I was Head Girl.

I've been involved in local politics for most of my life because of my Grandad Tom Aldred, a very well known and respected Whitworth Town Councillor, Rossendale Councillor and Alderman. I know the difference that an active and involved local councillor can make to the lives of people here. I remember going out leafletting and campaigning with my grandad when I was very young and I saw for myself the hard work and commitment he put into serving his community and he inspires me to do the same.

I'm a problem solver. I work for a charity which rehouses homeless people and I'm with them every step of the way in helping to sort out their problems. I ensure that people get a helping hand when they need it.

I'm studying for a maths degree at the Open University and I'd like to become a Maths teacher. I've been working towards this by providing voluntary tuition for local schoolchildren.

I'm an active member of the Mayor of Rossendale's fundraising committee and I've enjoyed arranging events to raise money for the Mayor's chosen charities.

Amongst my local concerns are the poor state of the roads and pavements in our area, particularly along Market St, and the unsatisfactory standard of repair work from Lancashire County Council. I'm also worried about loneliness and depression in the community and accessibility to Mental Health Services, particularly for young people.

As your local Whitworth Councillor I will be a strong voice for our area. I would be honoured to be given the chance to represent Whitworth at Rossendale Borough Council and I hope that voters will put their faith in me at the polling station on June 26th.

In just two weeks from now, residents of Whitworth Ward will get to vote for a new Councillor to represent them at Rossendale Borough Council.

Labour’s candidate Caitlin Chippendale will make an excellent local councillor. She’s hardworking, enthusiastic and innovative with the interests of Whitworth at her heart.

As a Labour Councillor she will be a direct link to the ruling party on the Council and to our local MP, Andy MacNae, giving Whitworth residents a strong voice where it matters.

Rossendale & Darwen MP Andy MacNae is holding local consultation meetings to hear from residents about what they want from their NHS. Please register your place and do come along and share your views.

Our NHS is broken, but not beaten. Together, we can fix it. Today, it is too hard to get an appointment, hospitals are overcrowded, NHS workers are overstretched and under supported by poor technology, systems and facilities.
